A "new trend" I've been teaching for 20 years

Hey Reader,

I read an article this week about the biggest affiliate marketing trends of 2026.

One of them made me laugh out loud.

"Turn Your Customers Into Affiliates."

Uh... yeah, I've been saying this for 20 years.

I've written probably 10 articles about it.

Recorded at least a half-dozen podcast episodes.

Used it as a core strategy in dozens of multi-million dollar affiliate campaigns.

But sure. Trend of 2026. (YAY!)

Look, I'm not annoyed. I'm glad more people are talking about it because it works, and most affiliate managers are still sleeping on it.

Your happiest customers are sitting right there in your database, they already love the product, they already talk about it, and most of them would jump at the chance to earn commissions doing what they're already doing for free.

That's not a trend. That's just good affiliate management.

I recently wrote a full walkthrough on exactly how to do this. It covers how to identify the right customers to recruit, how to approach them, and how to turn them into your most loyal and consistent affiliates.

Click here to read "How to Recruit Affiliates from Your Existing Customer Base."

If you've never tapped your customer base for affiliates, this is the article to start with.

And if you have, there's a good chance you'll pick up a step or two you've been skipping.

Best regards, Matt

P.S. Your customers are already sold. Turning them into affiliates is one of the highest-leverage moves in any affiliate program.

Read how to do so here.

Hey Reader, One of our clients ran a $5 million affiliate launch. Let that sink for a sec... Five. Million. Dollars. And the crazy part? He estimates 40% of that, about $2 million, came from one thing... Me coaching his affiliates. I coached his affiliates on what to say, what to send, how to position the offer, and how to avoid the small mistakes that kill conversions. Hey Reader, Most affiliate programs have a communication problem. Affiliates get too many emails and not enough of what they need to promote. That pattern makes promoting feel like work, and eventually affiliates stop trying. In this week's episode of the 6 C's of Elite Affiliate Programs, we're on the second C: Communicate.
